Before the price
What decides a backyard remodel.
Levels and drainage
Grade changes decide where steps, walls and drains go, and where the water ends up. They are set once, for the whole yard.
Access
Narrow side yards and gates shape how materials get in, and so the order the work happens in.
Order of work
Below-ground work and walls first, then paving, decks and covers, then fences, gates and finishes. Nothing gets torn out twice.
How it goes
From the first visit to the last check.
Walk the yard
We walk the yard with you, measure, and note the levels, access, drainage and what stays.
One plan, one estimate
Every part goes into one plan, in the order the work happens, with one estimate.
Work in order

Backyard remodels, answered.
Why plan the whole yard at once?
Because the parts depend on each other. The deck height sets the steps, the steps set the paving levels, and the paving decides where water goes. Planned together, nothing has to be redone.
Can we build it in phases?
Yes. With one plan for the whole yard, one phase can start now and the next later, without undoing the first.
Does a backyard remodel need permits?
Some parts can, such as patio covers, taller walls and retaining walls. It depends on the work and the city; we check it for your property.
