Closing the carport
The slats run level across the whole leaf with a small gap, so the carport stays bright and gets air but is closed off from the street. The color sits quietly against the house.

A slatted swing gate that closes off a carport
An open carport became a closed one without a wall. A swing gate in tan horizontal metal slats spans the opening, with steel posts, heavy hinges and an automatic opener arm. Built by our own crew.

Posts, hinges and the opener
A wide leaf is heavy, so it hangs on steel posts with heavy hinges. The opener arm mounts low on the frame and swings the gate open from the car.
